Why I read this book: Did a book/movie program on it at work. I had read this before, but I gave it the ol' re-read.

This a book where the movie is also really good, but in a different way. People who have just seen the movie may not realize that this story is actually told from the perspective of Chief Bromden. And he has a LOT going on in his head. Hallucinations, insights, and fears. He's a pretty amazing character that the reader gets to know very well.
And Nurse Ratched is obviously just evil and scary.
McMurphy is bigger than life.
Lots of insights about the perils of trying to fit in and doing what is expected of you versus being yourself and living in freedom. Yeah, this is a really compelling read that lets you into the world of mental illness. Check it out, y'all.
